My name is Désirée M. McCoy, and I am the CEO/Founder of MDM Associates. I have an impeccable professional base of creativity and elegance when designing and managing events. I am a provider of event planning, organizing and coordination services for corporate, special and milestone events. Customized Solutions to suit your budget. Combining my detailed oriented nature with my hospitality background, The Difference IS IN the Details!
I have been in the Event Management & Hospitality industry for over two decades.
Having a background in fundraising and administrative support, I decided to change direction. For the past nineteen years, I have served as the Group Sales Manager for hotels in Washington, DC and Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2005 I founded MDM Associates, LLC. It was always my dream to have my own event management business. I love designing events and making a difference!
I pride myself of being a customer service/hospitality, solution oriented, budget conscious, event and logistics coordinator in the corporate and social event industry. I have a proven ability to manage multi-level events including: conferences, meetings, seminars, institutes, expos, festivals and fundraisers for 15 – 20,000+ attendees, all while actively pursuing the desire of making each attendee feel as if they are the most important person in the room!
I have held events at some of the most elite places in DC such the Democratic National Club, Evolve Lounge, Jin Lounge, Lucky Strike, Pinstripes DC, Bethesda Crab House, VisArts Rockville, as well as all over the US. My satisfaction in life always comes from showing that “The Difference Is In The Details” for my clients.
God and family are my life! These things keep me focused on the important things in life and on my purpose. I have a strong belief that everyone’s needs are extremely important!
As a result, I spend my time, volunteering, mentoring and giving back. I am a proud alumna of the illustrious Howard University!
I enjoy walking, cooking, reading, thrill rides, traveling and time with my family – I do not say friends, as all of my friends, are family.
I also enjoy speaking to youth as well as aspiring and current entrepreneurs. I have spoken on numerous topics such as,Making the Most of Your Elevator Pitch – 15 minutes of Fame and on multiple topics regarding Event Management.
